The club championships 72 holes of golf played over 2 weekends 28 & 29 March and 4 & 5 April 2009. Players that participated would all agree that this year the competition was played over 4 days of really splendid golfing weather with interesting course setup for each day of the championships planned by our head professional Richard Pickering the setup had all the players focused on their game from one hole to the next. The A, B and C divisions as normal played stroke play golf and our club Seniors and Super Seniors competed over the 2 Saturdays playing individual stableford format to determine their overall winner. All the divisions throughout the club championships was contested in good golfing spirit by all of our members with Conrad Amm a past 2 time winner in 1996 & 2000 emerging as Royal Cape Golf Club Champion for 2009. Conrad won the tournament by 5 shots clear of 2nd place Eduardo Belloni by posting a total of 293 over his 4 rounds. Royal Cape 2008 defending champion Mark Booysen finished in 3rd place, 1 shot behind Eduardo Belloni.
